Tour of our Solar System

  • 21 Oct 2017
  • 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Bowlees Visitor Centre, Teesdale

This event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 21-29 October 2017, organised by the AONB Partnership and supported by Visit County Durham and the Science & Technology Facilities Council.

Join amateur astronomer Andy Gray on a magical mystery tour of our very own Solar System. We’re located in an outer spiral arm of the vast Milky Way Galaxy. Andy will take us through the Sun (our star) and everything that orbits around it. This includes the eight planets and their natural satellites, dwarf planets and their satellites, as well as asteroids, comets and countless particles of smaller debris. This event will include stargazing opportunities – weather permitting. Wrap up warm and bring a red-light torch (if you have one).

Adults - £5; Concessions - £2; Families - £10
