YOUR OWN PURPOSE-BUILT WINDOW ON THE UNIVERSE
This event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival 21-29 October 2017, organised by the AONB Partnership in conjunction with the North Pennines Astronomy Society and is supported by Visit County Durham and the Science & Technology Facilities Council.
Enjoy some of the darkest skies in the North Pennines, at Killhope Lead Mining Museum. Experienced astronomers (from the North Pennines Astronomy Society and Sunderland Astronomical Society) will be on hand to show you around the night sky, using a range of powerful telescopes and other astronomy equipment. All ages are welcome, and admission is free. Food and drink will be available from the museum cafe, throughout the event. Wrap up warm and bring a red-light torch (if you have one).
Cost: FREE Just turn up!
