This will be a session on visual observing (i.e. unaided) the night sky led by Gary Lintern, with a talk on the layout of the night sky and how to find your way around it.

It will be a Moonless evening, so the Milky Way should be visible and it's also the best time of the year to see it. We'll spend some time looking through the Observatory's telescope, at two or three objects (Mars & Jupiter may be visible).

Remember to wrap up warm, wear appropriate footwear and to bring a torch to see your way back to your car. DIRECTIONS

Pre-registration is required to attend this event because capacity at the Observatory is limited.

(Note: If this event becomes over-subscribed then an additional event will be arranged for a later date)

The North Pennines Observatory is owned and operated by the North Pennines AONB Partnership

The Observatory is currently only available for private bookings
