The Moon will be bright in the sky again for this member's evening  and, as well as observing it, Gary Lintern will explain its features and how it appears and moves, throughout the lunar month. As it's the end of the year, it will be the perfect opportunity for a preview of 2019, and what some of the key astronomical events are.

Could be another chance to see Venus. It's also a couple of nights after the Geminid meteor shower, and the peak of the Coma Berenicids, so we may observe the odd meteor.

Remember to wrap up warm, wear appropriate footwear and to bring a torch to see your way back to your car. DIRECTIONS

Pre-registration is required to attend this event because capacity at the Observatory is limited.

(Note: If this event becomes over-subscribed then an additional event will be arranged for a later date)
